US medal for our very own Chris Mullane
Our Vice-President Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Chris Mullane ONZM, MBE has finally received The
Legion of Merit after being awarded it 33 years ago! The delay was caused through an administrative fault which cast doubt on his eligibility for America’s sixth highest military decoration. The award is in recognition of his contribution to leadership in the United States military in the post-Vietnam war era. The award was presented by Major General R.F. Mathews, Deputy Commander, US Army Pacific on behalf of the President of the United States of America.
The Legion of Merit is a military decoration of the United States armed forces that is awarded for exceptional meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements. The decoration is issued both to United States military personnel and to military and political figures of foreign governments.
I am so proud of him, but I am biased as I am his older brother. I did notice also however, that he wears your badge with honour.
